Despite the Flyers hot start to the season, it looks nearly identical to past years where the Flyers go on a impressive winning streak and then go on a massive downfall and lose multiple games in a row, this year it has happened once again, and the Flyers are near losing their seventh straight game tonight where they face off against the Calgary Flames.
The Flyers traded away Justin Braun for a third round pick last year, Braun had one year remaining on his contract and he was in hopes to go to a contender for some playoff hockey.
For some reason the Flyers re-signed him back this off-season after getting beaten out of the playoffs, and he is now seventeen games without a point. Thankfully point totals do not represent defensemen, and Braun has done solid work on the Flyers penalty kill.
Braun will be a free agent and the Flyers will likely not re-sign him after this season, but as expected Braun will likely be moved at the NHL's trade deadline this year. Sportsnet's Elliote Friedman reports that Justin Braun may be experiencing his last few games in a Flyers jersey and the team may try to move him for more value before the NHL trade deadline hits.
