It was the ideal playoff-like atmosphere last night in New York when the Rangers hosted the Los Angeles Kings. Both teams were desperate for a win.

VeteranLA Kings defenseman Drew Doughty got into an argument with rookie K'Andre Miller, who was eventually ejected for making a crude gesture towards Drew Doughty.

It was said that Miller apologized to Doughty shortly after the game, but today, one day later, Miller sent a message on social media that is causing controversy:
K'Andre Miller:
I wanted to take a moment to address what occurred in last night's game. I have all the respect in the world for Drew Doughty and what happened was completely accidental. I would never intend to do something like that on purpose, it goes against everything lam as a person and player. I felt awful about it and I am thankful Drew gave me the opportunity to apologize and explain myself in person after the game.

This claim is being called a lie by many, which is understandable. Even so, making a public apology is a considerate action, but it appears that he is downplaying the fact that he deliberately intended to spit on him.
