We've seen a lot of insane incidents during minor hockey league games this season. From kids having brawls, to crazy parents fighting and one kid hopping the stands to fight a parent. But this is something I'd thought I'd never see.
During a minor hockey league game in Russia, one of the officials would intentionally trip the 17 year-old player who lost his helmet and hit his head on the ice, causing the player to get a concussion.
The official named Alexander Cherenkov has been suspended for the entire 2023 season. The incident occurred as players were involved in a scrum during the 3rd period, as the referee attempted to cool things down by separating players. Cherenkov would lose his patience putting his leg behind the players leg in order to take him down.
