Ken Hitchcock, a celebrated figure in the NHL coaching realm, has recently been honored with an induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame under the esteemed Builder Category.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Hitchcock's coaching odyssey commenced in his hometown, where he steered a Midget AAA team to an impressive tally of 575 victories against 69 losses.
The year 1984 marked Hitchcock's ascendancy to the coaching helm of the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL.
During his tenure, he clinched four consecutive division titles and two league championships, garnering recognition as the WHL Coach of the Year in both 1987 and 1990, solidifying his prominence in Canadian Major Junior Hockey.

Transitioning to the NHL, Hitchcock joined the Philadelphia Flyers as an assistant coach in 1990 before assuming the role of head coach for the Dallas Stars. In the 1998-99 NHL season, he steered the Stars to a Presidents' Trophy and secured the pinnacle of success with a Stanley Cup championship. Hitchcock's coaching journey continued with impactful roles for the Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and St. Louis Blues.
In 2011, the St. Louis Blues entrusted Hitchcock with the coaching reins, leading the team to remarkable achievements and earning the prestigious Jack Adams Award in 2012. Despite a brief hiatus, he returned to coaching with the Dallas Stars in 2017 and the Edmonton Oilers in 2018.
Hitchcock's influence extended beyond the NHL, encompassing significant contributions to Hockey Canada, including coaching roles in multiple gold medal victories at the Olympics and World Championships.
His outstanding contributions earned him the Order of Hockey in Canada in 2019, culminating in the pinnacle of recognition with his 2023 induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Hitchcock's coaching legacy is exemplified by an illustrious career spanning 1,598 NHL games, securing his position as the fourth-winningest coach in NHL history with an impressive 849 wins.
