The Philadelphia Flyers have created a lot of noise around the league in the past week. With a new GM in front office, the organization has waisted no time shaking things up.

On June 6, the Flyers traded Ivan Provorov for a big return. Setting the tone for what Philadelphia could receive for other players on the trade block.
Flyers players mentioned in trade talks after the Provorov deal have been Carter Hart, Travis Konecny, Tony DeAngelo, Kevin Hayes, and now Scott Laughton.

On Saturday night during the Stanley Cup Final, Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the Senators are «very interested» in Scott Laughton. Additionally on Sunday morning, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reiterated the rumours surrounding Scott Laughton.
Now with that in mind, a Scott Laughton and Claude Giroux reunion could be in store in Ottawa. The two played with each other for almost a decade plus in Philadelphia and are very good friends.
The Flyers want to be a younger team come next season, so moving Scott Laughton for draft picks and a top prospect could very well help improve the roster. Best case scenario the prospect would have to be a left winger or defensemen for the Flyers to get the best return. Or even a top current winger / defensemen already in the Senators top six.
Scott Laughton holds a $3M cap hit through the 2025-2026 season, and the Senators have $17,075,953 in cap space to work with. So bringing in Laughton wouldn't create any real money issues for Ottawa.
