It has been reported recently by Flyers Nitty Gritty journalist Jamey Baskow that Rasmus Ristolainen looks likely to re-sign with the Flyers come trade deadline day. The article, posted yesterday on the Nitty Gritty website features a Q&A session between Jamey and his Twitter followers.

A particular question concerning who would be sold and kept at the trade deadline provided even more questions.
Baskow believes Martin Jones, Derick Brassard, Justin Braun and captain Claude Giroux will all leave if healthy. He then throws us a curveball by saying that the Flyers and Ristolainen are both working on an extension and that an announcement should be expected as soon as Mar, 21.
Must read on FlyersInsider
"Martin Jones, Claude Giroux, Justin Braun, Derick Brassard (If healthy). The Flyers remain committed to re-signing Rasmus Ristolainen, and I believe that they will strike a deal and announce the signing the day of the trade deadline."

Baskow then goes on to say that he believes Ristolainen will re-sign after hardballing' the Flyers. He goes on to say that the two sides get along and that Ristolainen is also content within the dressing room.
"Rasmus Ristolainen will re-sign after playing hardball with the Flyers. His agent is doing his job, but at the end Rasmus likes Philadelphia and gets along well with the guys. I'm 60/40 in favor of him re-signing for $5.5-6 million for three-four years."

Ristolainen will be an UFA at the end of the season and is still good trade bait. It just depends on whether Fletcher and his crew decide on a full rebuild or not. Risto makes $5.4 million right now.
He has 2 goals and 11 assists in 45 games this season.
