Scott Laughton Responds To Provorov's Actions
On Tuesday night, Ivan Provorov caused controversy by refusing to participate in the Flyers LGBTQ+ night and missed warmups because he wouldn't wear the special jersey. Coach Tortorella earned some backlash as well because of his full support of Provorov's decision.
Some members of the Flyers locker room were not happy with Provorov's actions, especially Laughton and Van Riemsdyk. Both players were in charge of organizing the Flyers pride support events and even hosted people in the locker room before the game to show support.
Laughton spoke after the game about Provorov, his decision to not take part in the festivities, and the overall success of the night.
It is unclear if Provorov will face any pushback from inside the locker room, the front office, or the fan base, but early indications show that Tortorella will have his hands full in the locker room.
