With the draft still weeks away, many GM's are understandably unsure about their selections.
Perhaps waiting for the NHL scouting combine before speculating is a good idea but why would any team with the fifth overall selection do that.
Eric Reese, writer for Metro Philly and Philadelphia Sports Network thinks that drafting a defenceman is the right move. Especially if Juraj Slafkovsky and Cutter Gauthier are available.
"If the Flyers go forward with the fifth overall pick, they better hope for Slafkovsky or Gauthier. If Warren slips to the third round, which I doubt, Fletcher has a steal."

If they do take Nemec, the best defenceman in this draft, Reese believes that all the third round selections will be aimed at forwards.
"I imagine the Flyers take Nemec fifth overall. In the third round, they'll make a run on forwards, beginning with Devine (a college teammate of Brink.)"
The 2022 NHL Scouting Combine which showcases the top draft-eligible North American and international prospects, will be held in Buffalo, N.Y. from May 29 June 4.
Expect teams to interview players, speak to coaches, friends and family as well as sometimes taking them out for dinner.
