The NHL All-Star weekend has officially kicked off, yesterday the skills competition took place and it had quite the embarrassing showing with thousands of empty seats at the Florida Panthers arena. What many say is it's an event made for the TV and viewers at home, for the viewers at home each NHL superstar got a chance to speak to the media and voice any opinions that haven't been heard and or answer questions from reporters.
Some juicy questions were asked as players weren't just doing a regular on the fly interview but more so a sit-down and thoroughly answer some in depth questions. One question was asked and it was directed towards Penguins' Sidney Crosby, who shared a great opinion that may make the NHL re-consider the drastic change they've made in the past.
Sidney Crosby says he'd change the league to go with a 1-8 playoff format. Says it rewards teams for the regular season better.
It just makes the most sense, each and every NHL team plays in a total of 82-games throughout the regular season to not even be properly rewarded when the playoffs start? This is something to keep an eye on as this topic in particular gas gained a lot of traction in the past.
