Jarred Tinordi, a defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks, had a terrifying injury last week when he was slashed with a skate, causing blood to stream out his chin. The team's medical staff estimated that he needed 50 to 100 stitches, but he was able to finish the game.
When the stitches on Tinordi's chin started to take effect little over seven days later, hetookoff his full-face shield helmet, and the bad luck simply kept coming.
Sammy Blais, a forward for the Rangers, took a slapshot and it struckTinordi; whether the shot broke his stitches apart or not, blood was oozing everywhere.
