Tampa Bay received the worst possible news - and it could have been even worse if we read between the lines

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals didn't really go well for Tampa Bay, as they lost 6-2 against New York. They will look to even the series tomorrow night...

However, Tampa received a very bad news yesterday. According to head coach Jon Cooper, star forward Brayden Point will not participate in the series. However, Point will play hockey again - that's how Cooper formulated his sentence, which is pretty weird.
Does it mean that at one point, the Lightning was afraid about Point's future in the NHL? With the way Cooper said "Point will play hockey again, but can't guarantee it's this year" we can understand that it has the potential to be a career-threatening injury...
