Wade Allison was placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers at the beginning of October. There was a strong possibility that another team would have picked him up.
In the end, he did not get that opportunity because he reported to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League, under the coaching instruction of Ian Lapierre.
