As a team, the Philadelphia Flyers must continue to improve next season.

A return of Sean Couturier and Cam Atkinson should be viewed as good news for the team. After such a long absence, they will have to step up their game.
Despite having a combined cap hit of $13.25 Million, neither player played a game last season.
The two wingers have both been considered top-6 forwards, With Couturier previously a 70-point forward, Atkinson could again be a 50-point forward under another Tortorella system.

With two years left on his contract, Atkinson could be a valuable asset for the next team he joins if he needs to be moved at the deadline. If Couturier can make good on his $7.75 Million contract, the team will have excellent center depth
Last season, Cam York was the only Flyers defenseman not to be outscored 5v5 while leading the team in expected goal percentage, but his cautionary tale was that he had never played an NHL game before December 9th.
In order to prove that he can perform well in the first half of this season, as he did in 2022-2023 with Ivan Provorov, he will need to prove that he is capable of performing well in the second half of the season as well.
It is completely understandable for Joel Farabee to be struggling after a surgery he had to recover from. The $30 million contract he has with the team over six years makes him one of the most expensive contracts on the team. It is crucial that he improves on his 15-goal, 39 point season in 2022-2023.
Travis Sanheim tied for the team's point lead in 2021-2022, despite playing with a struggling Rasmus Ristolainen at the time. Due to his breakout performance, he would earn a $50 million dollar contract over 8 years.
The NTC on his contract suggests why he's still a Flyer since his first season under Tortorella resulted in scratching in Calgary in 2022-2023. However, he has to improve this season, or else the team will have to find a new place for Sanheim to play.
