The hockey world held its breath on Thursday, November 17, as goalkeeper Scott Wedgewood was carried off the rink on a stretcher after suffering an uncomfortable back injury that rendered him immobile.
Wedgewood is one of the NHL's most modest individuals, and many people have prayed for the goalie.

The Dallas Stars' last statement to the hockey world was that he was stable and "doing okay," which was fantastic but left many people wondering if an injury had actually occurred.
Thankfully, the Stars have confirmed that Wedgewood will participate in today's practice and serve as Jake Oettinger's backup in Dallas' game tonight.
In response to the terrifying injury, Wedgewood said:
«At first, I was like Ah, just spasming, it's a cramp and I'll roll over and get up,'» Wedgewood said. «As I tried to get up, nothing moved, nothing moved, laying down talking to [athletic trainer Dave Zeis].
«Then they start saying stretcher and wiggle your toes and can you feel my hand, and then you start thinking OK, did I do something more?' Then they call a stretcher and that almost put a little more fear in you not knowing.»
«They were like You could either wake up and feel great, or wake up and feel like you're 100 years old,'» Wedgewood said. «I got out of bed, felt good.»
