The Dirtiest Hit of The Year? Long-Term Suspension Likely to be Handed Out After Disgusting Hit Thrown

The Montreal Canadiens lost to the Vegas Golden Knights 4-6 at home on Saturday night. Forwards Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki's performance was the game's high point, but there was another non-highlight that is now trending and might result in a lengthy ban.

Josh Anderson, a forward for the Canadiens, was ejected from the game for an extremely hazardous hit on Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. Anderson weighs a substantial 218 pounds and is 6 feet 3 inches tall.

The fact that Anderson took many steps before delivering the hit and that Pietrangelo was in a vulnerable position are only two of the numerous reasons why this should result in a lengthy ban.
