It's going to be a strange summer for the Panthers.

They were one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, but they got swept by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round. The Panthers will now have to make some difficult decisions, and it begins with trading some important pieces of the team.
In the case of Claude Giroux, it has been reported that he wanted to stay in Florida. He will be a free agent this summer, so multiple teams will try to sign him, but for the moment, it seems more likely than not that he will stay in Sunrise.
With that being said, there's another former Flyer' that could leave: goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky. According to multiple reports, the Panthers tried to trade him this season. However, they are now ready to do everything in their power to get rid of him.

Per Nick Kypreos, the Panthers are willing to retain as much as 50% of Bobrovsky's salary in a potential trade. As a reminder, the former Flyer' has a 10,5M$ cap hit until 2025-26.
With the emergence of Spencer Knight, we can understand why the Panthers want to part ways with Bobrovsky. This season, he registered a 39-7-3 record, a 2.70 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
