As 2022 ended and 2023 began, what do you think the Flyers New Years Resolutions were?!

#6 Travis Sanheim Ring in the New Year like he left the old. Sanheim picked up 7 of his 14 points in December and his offensive reads have been sound; not neglecting his defensive responsibilities when he jumps into the rush.
#9 Ivan Provorov Find a new stick manufacturer? Provorov has fired 69 shots on net, with some quality looks, but only has one goal to show for it. Puck luck hasn't been on his side, so maybe switching up his twigs will change his unfortunate luck.
#11 Travis Konecny Eclipse 80 points. Konecny has been sensational for the Flyers this year and is on pace to crush his previous high of 66 points in a season, set in 2019-20. Does anybody else get a sense TK is becoming a more likeable Brad Marchand? Great hockey senses, scores from everywhere, plays in every situation, and absolutely drives opponents crazy with his borderline play and occasional antics.
Must read on FlyersInsider
#13 Kevin Hayes Play better defense I guess? Perhaps make better decisions with the puck, as his career high point per game average just isn't cutting it? Maybe Hayes could groom some of Tortorella's horses or throw as many hits as JVR to get in the good books again and earn his coaches praise.

#14 Sean Couturier Avoid the scalpel! After signing an eight-year extension Couturier appeared to be back on track to start the regular season as the Flyers top center, but required another back surgery in October and hasn't seen action since February 11, 2022. A legitimate 200ft threat that instantly makes the Flyers a better team.
#17 Zach MacEwen Work as hard as he can to get off that fourth line. MacEwen shows glimpses of being a capable third line contributor and can make things happen with his work ethic and willingness to go to the greasy areas. Unfortunately, MacEwen cannot escape Patrick Brown and Nicolas Deslauriers right now, both of whom dump the puck and cycle anytime they cross the center line. MacEwen is doomed on that line.
#21 Scott Laughton Enroll in acting classes. Laughton has stepped up in the absence of Couturier, as one of the Flyers leaders and has surprised a lot of skeptics with his ability to score too, but those CarShield commercials with Sanheim and Ric Flair my goodness. I hate to admit, but they are a guilty pleasure.

#24 Nick Seeler Request a trade to a contender. Nick Seeler plays a hard-nosed, honest game that would translate well to a team in contention, who's looking for a solid bottom pairing D, or an insurance policy #7.
#25 James Van Reimsdyk Avoid getting injured before being traded. He's getting dealt; that's almost a certainty. With 5 hits and 5 blocked shots on the year (one of which broke his fringer), JVR will be looking to avoid physical contact and blocking shots, as he has done throughout his career. He still has the mitts around the net and should land a decent return on the trade front.
#38 Patrick Brown Hire Nicolas Deslauriers agent and get him to dupe Chuck Fletcher into another ridiculous contract. Brown currently makes $750000, just slightly less than Deslauriers made when Fletcher signed him to a lucrative 4-year deal. Brown is a journeyman of sorts and would love nothing better to lay down roots in Philly on a similar 4 year $1.75 million dollar deal. Every team needs a solid 4th line!
#44 Nick Deslauriers Lead the league in dump ins. Deslauriers leads all NHL forwards in hits, with a remarkable 153 hits and almost has the same number of dump ins. Deslauriers treats the puck like a live grenade and has his sites set on being the NHLer with the least amount of puck possession time per minutes played. I know his role. I know his skill set. I just, I just can't believe we potentially have three more years of watching him flick the puck all over the ice.
#45 Cam York Take over the top PP unit! You can see it; you can see the breakout potential. Cam York has phenomenal vision and the ability to shake defenders. He's a smooth, heads-up skater and it appears it is only a matter of time before he takes over the power play duties on PP1. The maturity grows each game.

#48 Morgan Frost Secure a long-term contract. Frost shows glimpses, but if he wants to make bank and secure the first raise of his professional career, he needs an eye opening second half. With Couturier coming back, Noah Cates establishing himself, and players like Cutter Gauthier, Bobby Brink, and Tyson Foerster set to break into the lineup this year and next, Frost may be the odd man out. He needs to impress right now.
#49 Noah Cates Take advantage of Sean Couturier. Cates has a solid two-way game and has the ability to learn from one of the leagues best, when (not if) Couturier returns. Cates has the potential to be a solid and productive player for the Flyers in the future, especially if he can gel with a guy like Owen Tippett, or Joel Farabee. Learning and studying a player like Couturier will help him in all aspects of his game.
#55 Rasmus Ristolainen Have cryotherapy chambers installed in every room in his house. You can argue and debate his contract all you want, but you will never be able to argue Ristolainen's commitment to blocking shots and sacrificing his body for the team. I honestly cannot recall a player who blocks so many obviously painful shots and rolls back out shift after shift to throw his body in the way of 90+mph shots. What he lacks in points, he makes up for in bruises.
#57 Wade Allison Become less acquainted with the Flyers medical staff. Allison has endured a lot during his young career, in terms of injuries. Just as he seems to come back from one injury and establish himself in the lineup, he gets hurt. Allison plays with a certain reckless abandon and his energy is contagious on the ice, he just needs to avoid the infirmary for a while.
#61 Justin Braun Get dealt to another contender. Braun has paid his dues in the league and is a serviceable defenseman, but he isn't a long-term solution for the Flyers. Hopefully Braun can land on Cup contender and add some depth to a franchise in the hunt. Philadelphia needs to see what some of their prospects can contribute in the second half and Braun is eating up a roster spot.
#74 Owen Tippett Hit the 25 goal plateau. Tippett has an elite NHL shot and loves to shoot the puck. He should be gunning for 25 goals this year and press for even more next season. Tippett's big body is tough to handle and he has an explosive stride off the wall and attacks the middle of the ice well in the offensive zone. Fletcher did well to land Tippett in the Giroux deal and he looks like a top six forward for years to come.
#77 Tony DeAngelo Eclipse his career high in points. DeAngelo has had two 50 plus point seasons, a 53 point season with the Rangers and 51 points with the Hurricanes last year. DeAngelo currently has 22 points in 32 games and isn't shy about jumping into the rush and dropping down low in the offensive zone. If the Flyers younger players keep producing as they have been and the power play gets on track, DeAngelo has a shot at a career high.
#79 Carter Hart Be aware of Rasmus. What can you say about Carter Hart this year, other than he has been unbelievable. Prior to his mild concussion, suffered as the result of a Ristolainen miscue, Hart has been the main reason for the Flyers limited success and being in almost every game he has played. It's tough to conjure up a New Years resolution for a player playing so well. Maybe spice up some of his interviews with a few zingers?

#86 Joel Farabee Find the swagger. Farabee has been snake bitten at times during the season, but has the capability of being a consistent 25+ goal man in the NHL. When he plays aggressive and with the John Tortorella «swagger», he can be a difference maker. He has a great set of hands, a tricky release on his shot, and has the wheels to be defenders one on one. Watch for his game to get back on track in 2023.
#89 Cam Atkinson Rehab, rehab, rehab. Atkinson looked to be on track to get back into the lineup, but suffered a setback that required an additional procedure; ending his 2022-23 season. Atkinson is a class act and a player that is hard to dislike. Let's hope he crushes his rehab and is able to suit up for the Orange and Black next season.
John Tortorella Spice up his interviews! Enough clichés already, let us know what you're really thinking and how you feel. Maybe stop benching your top scorers too; that would be great.
Chuck Fletcher Admit the Flyers must rebuild around its youth. No more 30+ year old signings. No more trading picks or prospects for players until we are in actual contention. The future is bright! Konecny, Provorov, York, Farabee, Tippett, Gauthier, and Carter Hart! Build around them. Stop the «retool» nonsense.
