Craig Button, NHL draft analyst for TSN, was on TSN690's radio show this morning in preparation for tonight's NHL draft lottery. He got many fans excited when he compared many players from this year's class to players like Patrice Bergeron, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Filip Forsberg and Moritz Seider.
Because of the new lottery format, no team is allowed to drop more than two places from where they currently are. Philly can only drop as low as 6th place and will have a chance at all of these guys.
If the Flyers do go for defence, it seems that David Jiricek is a future Moritz Seider who Button thinks will win the Calder next year.
Lastly, the lottery has no impact on the draft places for all other rounds moving forwards. That means that if the Flyers move down to 6th, they still draft 4th in the second round (36th) and so on.
On a scale of 1-10 how nervous is everybody for tonight?
