In the NHL, injuries are an unfortunate reality, and the Philadelphia Flyers are currently grappling with a significant decision regarding one of their key defensemen, Rasmus Ristolainen.

Coach John Tortorella is in a tough spot, as he remains non-committal about Ristolainen's status for the upcoming game and road trip due to a minor injury. The team's cautious approach is aimed at preventing the issue from becoming a lingering problem while also giving a young player a valuable opportunity to step in.
Torts is non committal on whether Ristolainen will play tomorrow, or if he'll even go on the trip. Said he has to talk to the trainer before they leave in a couple hours.

Said it's a minor issue, but they just don't want it nagging.

(Also, sitting him would give a kid a game.)

In the world of professional sports, where every game counts, the Flyers' decision to prioritize player health is commendable. It's a reminder that in the NHL, while victory on the ice is the ultimate goal, ensuring the welfare of their athletes is a close second.
