It was difficult to seek the light at the end of the tunnel at one point this season, but it came when the campaign was over.
One of the good news of this disastrous year was the growth of the younger players : Owen Tippett, Morgan Frost and Noah Cates were certainly feel good stories. They had a strong end to the year, and the underlying numbers showed it.
Tippett and Frost finished the season as the two best Flyers for the expected goals percentage, in all-situations, when they were on the ice. Who was at third? Claude Giroux.
Cam York is fourth, and despite playing only 10 games, Isaac Ratcliffe is fifth. Noah Cates in 8th on the list.
When we look at it, the only thing that was lacking for Frost and Tippett was a little bit of luck. How many posts did Tippett hit during his time with the Flyers? If they can continue to play like this, they could do a lot of damage next year.
