So, I went on to make a couple of research on CapFriendly, and I ended up on the Coyotes page.

Here is something pretty odd: Arizona have only four NHL forwards signed for next season. And it's pretty obvious that they are going to have a hard time signing some free agents this summer, so the Flyers could really take advantage of it.
You already know which name I'm going to bring up: James Van Riemsdyk.
The Flyers want to compete next season, and in the best case scenario, they seem to want to make a deep run during the 2023 playoffs. I'm not going to say that it is going to happen (I doubt it), but still, it's the plan of the organization.

In this case, it really would be better to trade James Van Riemsdyk's contract. To be active during the offseason, the more cap space you have, the better, and 7M$ of free cap would really help the team.
I don't need to remind you that cap space isn't an issue for Arizona...
With the Coyotes' situation and their probable difficulty to sign some players, could the Flyers try to make a deal with them in order to send them JVR? It is probably going to cost some high draft picks, but if you are in a "playoff mode", the draft isn't a priority.
There's certainly something to do right there. Is Chuck Fletcher going to take this road? Let's see...
