According to Jesse Bell via Twitter, the Flyers were inches away from having a complete overhaul of management this offseason.

As it turns out, the team and its new owners had enough of Chuck Fletcher and were set to replace him with Panthers assistant GM Brett Peterson.
According to a source close to the Panther's organization, the Flyers offered the GM position to Brett Peterson this summer but were turned down. The reason for that was allegedly because Peterson was not enthused at the opportunity of working with Holmgren and Clarke.

Peterson joined the Panthers in 2020 and is believed to be the first African American to hold an NHL assistant GM role.
Peterson, 40, was most recently the VP of Hockey for Wasserman Media Group (Talent Agency). Since 2009, Peterson has been a certified player agent under the same organization, working with a plethora of elite hockey talent.
This development is huge news as it means the team's higher ups realize an issue and were actively seeking a solution. Are Holmgren and Clarke the main reasons the franchise is in demise and unable to recruit talented individuals?
