The Flyers turned down multiple NHL executives for Keith Jones.
The Flyers interviewed highly for the position of president of hockey operations. In the NHL, it's one of the most coveted jobs since the Flyers represent one of the best hockey markets in the country.
During the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman reported that two executives were turned down by the Flyers who happened to be NHL coaches associate director Michael Hirshfield and former NHL are Scott Mellanby.

It also appears that Scott Mellanby was one of the front runners for the job and the Flyers decided to go a different direction with Keith Jones. The Jones hiring certainly has had many people quite happy with this choice.
Jones who happens to be a former flyer alumnus had an extensive career and has made numerous contacts and is very well-liked amongst most of the NHL executives. It remains to be seen how well he will do once he takes full control of the Flyers after the playoffs.
The NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 28th and 29th in Nashville.
