The plan is clear: James Van Riemsdyk has to be dealt. The Flyers don't have a lot of space under the cap, and if they want to make some big moves this summer, they will have to find a way to make some room.

There has been rumblings about buying out Oskar Lindblom's contract. But JVR has a big impact under the cap and it will help the Flyers a lot if they succeed to move him.
However, Chuck Fletcher will have to make some efforts to trade him. According to Anthony SanFilippo, the Flyers may have to retain up to 2M$ if they hope to move him.
With that being said, if they accept to do so, it seems like it will not be extremely difficult to find a trade partner. A team like the Arizona Coyotes needs to reach the salary cap floor and adding a big salary like JVR will help them to do so.
