The NHL will reward the Minnesota Wild for making an error

Teams have until today 5pm to sign their prospects whose Club Signing rights are expiring. The Philadelphia Flyers have two of those players. But we'll talk about that in another article...

Let's focus on the Minnesota Wild for the moment. The former club of current Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher selected Filip Johansson 24th overall in 2018. However, they were never convinced by his development. Thus, they decided to not sign him by the deadline.

The Wild obviously made a mistake with this pick, but they will be compensated by the NHL, as they will be awarded a 2nd round pick (56th overall) at the Draft in Montreal on July 7th and 8th.
