Philadelphia Flyers head coach Danny Briere is looking for any way possible to accelerate the team's rebuild. Asset accumulation is one aspect of a rebuild that teams need to keep in mind.

A rebuilding team can eat cap space by taking on other contracts with the money available.
Ryan Ellis will join the team on long-term injured reserve soon, giving the team $6.25 Million of cap space plus $900K already available.
I've talked to many teams, and I've let them know there's a possibility for us to help them if they're able to help us on the back end with some younger guys.

Ottawa Senators and Flyers may soon be trading partners as the Senators need cap space to sign Shane Pinto.
In order to do so, they need to move cash and Erik Brannstrom or Matthieu Joseph may be two players they can move to the Flyers in order to free up cap space. Additionally, Brannstrom is still young enough to contribute to the team's rebuild.
Danny Briere and Pierre Dorion haven't officially been linked to a move just yet, but the Flyers are smelling blood in the water and hopefully, the right kind of assets will be available when the time comes.
