The Philadelphia Flyers and NHL find themselves in an uncommon contract dispute concerning goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
He inked a one-year entry-level contract with the Flyers in May last year but couldn't play due to personal reasons, including military service in Russia. Both parties argue that his contract should be put on hold and extended to this season given the circumstances.
The ruling is still awaiting, after yesterdays dispute to the KHL
However, CSKA signed him to a two-year deal in the KHL to prepare for a potential NHL opportunity.
While the Flyers previously confirmed his contract for the 2023-24 season, they now await the IIHF's ruling. Fedotov's future remains uncertain.
