The Philadelphia Flyers franchise seems to state the team has improved this off-season with the acquisitions of Justin Braun and Tony DeAngelo on defense, as well as one of the most disliked signings, tough guy Nic Deslauiers, who the Flyers signed to a 4-year contract tallying up a near $2 million in earnings per season. Even former Philadelphia Flyers player called the signing ''Mind boggling''

But what if the Flyers made a even worse acquisition, and on top of that with the Pittsburgh Penguins!??
The Pittsburgh Penguins off season started with a large scare when Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang were left unsigned, but things quickly shifted when Kris Letang re-signed for $6.1 million per season, and Malkin followed Letang's steps by signing a $6.1 million per season deal.

That left the Penguins with negative cap space, a whopping negative $1.5 million in the hole. How will they clear it!? Well, one trade that was supposed to happen involved Penguins a penguins forward, and it is stated that it may have been to the Philadelphia Flyers..
The Flyers reportedly made a HEAVY push to acquire forward Jason Zucker from the Pittsburgh Penguins, who has a near-worse contract than James Van Riemsdyk, Zucker holds a $5.5 million dollar cap hit per season and has yet to be healthy in years.
NHL Trade rumours reported the following:
''It was reported yesterday that the Pittsburgh Penguins potentially had an offer on the table to move Jason Zuckers contract, but GM Ron Hextall wasn't willing to part with a first-round pick as a sweetener to make the deal. Sam Carchidi of Philadelphia Hockey Now is reporting that he thinks it was the Flyers who made the offer to the Penguins.''
''Carchidi writes that it wouldn't have been a surprise if Philadelphia was the Metropolitan Division team mentioned as Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher drafted Zucker in 2010 with the Minnesota Wild. The Flyers could also use another first-round pick, and Zucker could slot in on the left side of their first line.''
''The Flyers are also believed to have shopped James van Riemsdyk but the ask is a first-rounder as a sweetener. That seems to be a theme.''
So, the question is, how long does Flyers general manager last in Philadelphia??
