The Philadelphia Flyers prospect pool gets a Bump
Great news for Philadelphia Flyers fans! The team has a new management regime that is committed to changing the culture for the better.
As part of their efforts, they have acquired several promising prospects, including Matvei Michkov, Oliver Bonk, Cutter Gauthier, and Bobby Brink.
The team's prospect pool had a significant decline during the Ron Hextall era, dropping from being ranked #1 in 2017 to #19 in 2022.
However, the addition of these new prospects has brought about a vast improvement. In fact, Matvei Michkov was recently ranked #2 in the top 15 prospects by The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, and the NHL Network ranked the Flyers' current pool as 9th in the league.
As a result of Briere's drafting skills, the team now has a replenished goalie depth with three honorable mentions on Wheeler's top goal-tender prospect list - Carson Bjarnason, Samuel Ersson, and Alexei Kosolov. Overall, the Briere era in Philadelphia is looking very promising!
