The next edition of the World Cup of Hockey will look very different

NHLers haven't participated to an international tournament since 2016. In 2018, they weren't allowed to go to the Olympics. They should have gone to Beijing this year in February, but COVID-19 ruined everything.
However, the NHL and the NHLPA are planning to organize a World Cup in 2024. There hasn't been a date or a location set yet, but NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly has already confirmed that Team North America and Team Europe will not return to the 2024 edition.
All eight teams involved will be actual countries. For the moment, Russia is on this list, but we have no choice but to ask ourselves if they could possibly be out of it because of the situation in Ukraine. But again, things could change...
