I honestly feel bad for the hockey fans who never got to see the greatest hockey player of all-time. The one they called the Great One Wayne Gretzky.
Gretzky broke into the NHL back in 1979 and didn't disappoint winning the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie.
Gretzky lead the Oilers to four straight Stanley Cups from 1983-1987 during the Oilers dynasty, and is a big reason there's hockey in places like California and Las Vegas after Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings back August 9th 1988.
Right now people are watching to see if Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin can break Wayne Gretzky's goal record.
However there's one record I don't see anyone ever breaking at least in our lifetime and that's Wayne Gretzky won 8 straight Hart Trophies from 1979-1987.
