There could be a big trade this summer between the Blues and the Flyers

The closer we get to the draft, the more rumours there will be.

Ivan Provorov is a big question mark. Will he stay in Philadelphia? Will he be traded?

The thing is, Provorov could still be a big contributor for the Flyers, but he has to be well surrounded. And Ryan Ellis seems to be the perfect candidate. Only problem? He was injured all season long so the management did not have the opportunity to see these two guys play together.

But if Chuck Fletcher really wants to trade Provorov, the St. Louis Blues could be one of the teams that will try to acquire him.



Now, the Blues are contending and it will still be the case next year. I don't think that they would want to give one of their core players in this trade. The Flyers are looking to be competitive next year so Fletcher will want to acquire established NHL players. Is Doug Armstrong ready to give up one of his top-6 forward?

Provorov could be a good fit in St. Louis. There's a lot of Russian players there so it would facilitate his integration in the team.

With that being said, the draft is still a couple months away, so we will see how things will go.
