The Philadelphia Flyers have made progress in fixing Chuck Fletcher's mistakes and are now in a favorable position. Tony DeAngelo and Ivan Provorov are no longer with the team, so Danny Briere will have to consider other prospects for promotion.

Cam York and Rasmus Ristolainen have already been locked in, with York receiving a qualifying offer of $1.45 million AAV for two years.
This means that competition for spots in the lineup is about to intensify, particularly in the defense department.
The young defensemen will need to step up in training camp if they want to win roster spots.

Players such as Emil Andrae, Ronnie Attard, Helge Grans, and Egor Zamula will have to compete for spots in the lineup as the defense is being reorganized. Andrae is an undersized defenseman but is known for playing with physicality and possessing excellent offensive skills.
Attard was passed over until his 2018-2019 year with the Tri-City Storm, where he put up 64 points. He committed to Western Michigan University, where he recorded 36 points in 39 games and then signed his ELC.
Helge Grans, chosen 35th overall in the 2020 draft by the LA Kings, is known for being a great two-way defenseman who can execute great passes and take calculated risks. He is also skilled in consuming space and boasts great footwork.
Egor Zamula has split the last three seasons between the Phantoms and Flyers after being signed by the Flyers following training camp. He began in the KHL, and although his journey to the NHL was unconventional, he has made progress.
He may be able to make the jump in 2023-2024, but he needs to add size and physicality to his game to become a permanent fixture.
Camp is where everyone is evaluated before the season, and John Tortorella will ultimately determine who makes the team.
The upcoming season should be exciting as it will showcase breakout players and those who continue to develop at a high level.
