A few months ago I did write-ups on both Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost, and at the time both were at opposite ends of the spectrum; Tippett was thriving and putting up plenty of points while Frost was struggling. Since then, Tippett has cooled down a little(but not enough for eyebrow raising concern yet) and Frost has closed the gap significantly. He's still been a bit inconsistent and seems to thrive more against "bottom of the barrel" teams like Arizona and Anaheim, but compared to the early part of the season he has definitely improved and gained confidence.

In Frost's first 25 games he only managed a total of 6 points, 3 goals and 3 assists. In his last 26 games, dating back to early-December, he has registered 11 points, 7 goals and 4 assists.
At the time of the last write-up I did, Frost had just been placed on a line with Tippet and James Van Riemsdyk, and the three looked promising together, but it was still early days and the line was not yet a "mainstay".
Now the line has strong chemistry and is only broken up on rare occasions. The three line mates are usually able to find each other pretty easily on the ice; most times without even actually looking for one another, and it has resulted in more goals for Frost than earlier in the season due to deceptive passing from Tippett or Van Riemsdyk that keeps opposing goalies guessing and sends opposing defenses scrambling.
It's pretty obvious, love him or hate him, John Tortorella is able to find ways to make players better. He even finds ways to put players with other players that suit them and their style which results in chemistry building until the line is unable to be broken up. Luckily for Tortorella that has happened with nearly all four of his lines, and chemistry is not as big an issue as lack of talent. However, with undisclosed injuries to Zack MacEwen and Wade Allison in the last game the lineup shuffle may be unavoidable for at least the final game before the all-star break, if not longer depending on the severity of the injuries and how quickly MacEwen and Allison are able to return.
