This trade proposal between the Hurricanes and the Flyers involving Giroux makes a lot of sense

The next weeks will be capital for the Flyers. Even though they don't want to make a proper rebuild, and thus be competitive in order to make the playoffs next year, what will happen at the trade deadline will dictate a lot of things for the next months.

And, obviously, Claude Giroux will be at the centre of all of this. Sam Carchidi, from PhiHockeyNow, wrote a great article on what were the assets that the Flyers could get in return of Claude Giroux, one trade proposal was particularly interesting...
It'll be a bit surprising if the Hurricanes would indeed be the winner if this race for Giroux, but you never know. Here's what Russ Cohen (SiriusXM NHL Network Radio) suggested : Carolina acquire Claude Giroux for a 1st round pick, center Martin Necas (!), and defenseman Scott Morrow (Hurricanes 2nd round pick in 2021) or right winger Noel Gunler (Hurricanes 2nd round pick in 2020).
To be honest, I love it. I'll prefer Gunler, which seems to have a better upside than Morrow, but those two are very good prospects. Martin Necas is a great player, even though he slowed down a bit comparing to last year. However, he's only 23 years old and is a confirmed top 6 forward. The only problem I have here is that he'll be RFA this summer so you have to be sure to sign him an extension.
