Dryden McKay was one of the three finalists to obtain the Hobey Baker Award this year, with Flyers' forward Bobby Brink and Avalanche center Ben Meyers.
The former won it, even though he wasn't named the best goaltender in the NCAA, which seems very odd.
However, he could have never won it. At the end of the month of January, the Minnesota State goaltender was screened to see if he uses banned substance because he was Team USA's alternate goaltender for the Beijing Olympics. A week later he received a call and learned that he has been tested positive for Ostarine, which is a banned substance.

At this time, he received a provisional suspension and it could have been away from the ice during 4 years. McKay obviously withdrew from the Olympics and sent all the proteins and vitamins that he was using to a laboratory to see where was the problem. And it seems that it was in a bottle of Quercentin, which is basically that provides a boost to the immune system.
Long story short, McKay published a long message on Twitter to explain all the situation, and it seems like it was an honest mistake from his part. All of the bottles of Quercentin from the same lot number were contaminated with this substance, which is banned from the United States.
McKay finally decided to accept a 6 month suspension. He will be able to play in October.
