Kevin Hayes is heating up for the Flyers at the perfect time as he has eight goals and nine assists in his last 18 games. There has been speculation around the 30-year-olds name that he might get traded come the March 3rd trade deadline. Hayes currently still has 3 years left on his deal making $7.142 million per season, and it wouldn't be a shock if the Flyers were to have to retain 50% of his salary especially if he is dealt to a contender.

It's possible one of the landing destinations for Hayes is the Bruins, he would be playing in his hometown state and the Bruins are a powerhouse this year, adding someone like Hayes who is currently second in team scoring on the Flyers would definitely help them during the playoffs. Frank Seravalli from The Daily Faceoff went on to say
«They need a center. They couldn't acquire Bo Horvat, who was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the New York Islanders on Jan. 31.«

There is no guarantee that Bergeron and Krejci sign again with the Bruins they might just end up calling it a career and if they did the Bruins would be in massive need of center depth. Adding Hayes who has some term left on his contract wouldn't be a bad idea for them.

Another team he could land up on is the Colorado Avalanche. Their captain Gabriel Landeskog has yet to play a game this season after undergoing knee surgery in October. Although he is expected to return at some point before the end of the regular season, it's not a guarantee that he will be back to form right away.
Seravalli wrote on the Daily Faceoff about how much loosing Nazim Kadri as their second line center has really hurt them and also the fact they have dealt with a lot of injury's this year. If they miss out on acquiring Johnathan Toews they could look to trade for Hayes along with Seeler and could see a return of Evan Rodrigues and Ben Meyers going back to the Flyers.
The Last possible destination for Hayes could be the Carolina Hurricanes. They recently lost Max Pacioretty to a torn right Achilles tendon on Jan. 19. This is the second time Pacioretty has torn his Achilles' tendon in less then a year. With him being placed on LTIR this opens up a lot of room for the Hurricanes to go to work come the deadline and they need it. The team is currently struggling on their power play being at just 19.8% on the year ranking 22nd in the league, and 11th in goals per game averaging just 3.31 this year.
If acquired Hayes would be the assist leader on the Hurricanes as he currently has 30 on the year and Carolinas assist leader is Burns right now with 27. Hayes for the time being would be a good replacement for Pacioretty and slotting into their top six he would be able to produce some good numbers for them.
