In a recent interview with NHL Network, the newest Flyer Nicolas Deslauriers revealed a few interesting facts about himself and his career path Flyers fans may find intriguing.
1. He used to be an offensive defenceman in junior.
While playing in the QMJHL, Deslauriers used to be a defenceman and played five seasons on the blue-line with Ryoun-Noranda Huskies and the Gatineau Olympiques.
During the 2011 QMJHL playoffs, Deslauriers led all QMJHL defensemen in playoff scoring with 20 points.

2. The first guy to call him after joining the Flyers was
Kevin HayesKevin Hayes was the first member of the team who contacted him via text. Deslauriers says they aren't close but have many mutual friends and has seen him around.
3. He is friends with Ristolainen and Couturier

Rasmus Ristolainen well having spent time with the big Finnish blueliner in Buffalo. He also knows
Sean Couturier from their many encounters as opponents while both in the QMJHL.
4. He has a tattoo dedicated to his grandmother
Deslauriers has a tattoo dedicated to his grandmother on his left arm which reads "The future will be whatever you make it." A quote she would always tell him.
5. He has had more fights against the Flyers than another other NHL team.
Deslauriers has fought the Flyers on five separate occasions more than any other team in the NHL. His biggest rival is
Kurtis MacDermid with five tilts.
He has had 62 fights under his belt and 29 of those while he was with the Anaheim Ducks.
