Flyers prospect Bobby Brink has underwent successful hip surgery and is expected to miss about 5 months to recover.
Dr. Christopher Larson of Twin Cities Orthopedics in Minneapolis performed the surgery which was to repair a torn labrum in Brink's left hip.
Brink joins teammate Joel Farabee and Ryan Ellis on the IR as the team looks to deal with these unforeseen circumstances.
Brink, 21, had 4 assists in 10 NHL games with the Flyers last year. While playing in the NCAA for the University of Denver, registered 14 goals for 57 points in 41 games ; being named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
