Tortorella Has Oddly Banned The Philadelphia Flyers From Using Technology Device
Coach Tortorella is known for his old-school mentality about the game and his quick fuse with the media. Over the last few years, the NHL has incorporated more technology behind the benches to help players watch replays of their shifts and to aid coaches in the replay challenge aspect of the game.
Well, Tortorella made an interesting decision during last night's 5-3 victory against the Washington Capitals. Tortorella decided to ban the use and presence of iPads behind the bench.
While the technology can definelty help the players, Tortorella makes a great argument. Hockey is one of the few sports where the next shift can impact the entire game, so keeping the players mindset on the next shift and not in the past can be extremely beneficial. There is one player though who apparently loved the iPads.

I doubt that the removal of iPads will hinder Konecny's performance moving forward, but it is good to see the players keeping the mood light on the bench.
