Tortorella hints Couturier may miss next year?
Sean Couturier, who suffered an injury that required surgery, is still recovering from the injury he sustained. It is encouraging to see him skating recently after not playing a single game this season.
However, head coach John Tortorella explain to the media that there will not be a captain named for next year.
This statement has made some fans believe that Coots may not be returning next year. It's certainly tough to say whether that's the case as the news of his injury has been radio silent.

As it's no fault anyone for getting injured and trying to recover, the Flyers will certainly need to evaluate their centre position and look at other options if possible.
Coots, who began his contract extension that was signed at eight years worth $62 million holds a cap hit of 7.75 million per season. With the contract ending in 2029-2030, there is a possibility he may stay on LTIR for the remainder of the deal or it gets moved later on as possible cap leverage for another team.
Time will tell to see if he can make it back to the ice and continue to help the Flyers.
