The trade that brought Tony DeAngelo to Philadelphia seemed like a questionable move from the start, and now it has taken a turn for the worse.

The draft pick included in the trade had a condition on it, and it has finally been finalized. Surprisingly, the 2023 3rd round pick that Carolina receives in this trade is actually the best of the three that the Flyers hold, which does not help this 'rebuilding' phase, thanks Chuck Fletcher!
This development adds another layer of disappointment for Chuck Fletcher, the former general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers, who orchestrated the deal.
Acquiring DeAngelo was already a controversial move due to his off-ice behavior and reputation. Now, not only did the Flyers bench DeAngelo for 'off ice reasons' for the last 4/5 games of the year, but they also lose out on a higher-valued draft pick.
While draft picks can be hit or miss, losing out on the best selection in a trade only adds to the frustration. It's a stark reminder that even the most carefully crafted trades can backfire, leaving teams to face the consequences of their decisions.
