On insider trading, NHL insider and analyst Pierre LeBrun spoke about the future of Claude Giroux approaching the trade deadline. He says that it's no question that full no-move clauses hinder a GM's ability to trade assets, comparing this year's trade deadline to last year's.

«It's no question that the Philadelphia Flyers have looked at last year's trade of Taylor Hall at the deadline where the Sabers essentially only got a second round pick and want to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself when it comes to Claude Giroux. Who like Taylor Hall has a full no-move,» he said.
As of right now, serious trade discussions involving Giroux have not yet begun. He does state that Giroux's agent Pat Brisson is in the process of creating a shortlist of teams for GM Chuck Fletcher. However, this would only happen should Claude Giroux decide he wants to be moved. We have to remember, the player holds all the cards.
If a shortlist of teams is made rather than one specific team, it would give the Flyers a better chance at dealing him and essentially securing a better return. The deadline is on March 21, 2022.
