Trading Carter Hart would be a terrible mistake.
Great goaltenders are probably one of the commodities hard to come by in the NHL these days, unlike back in the 1990s and 2000s when you could rely on excellent goaltending to carry you during a game regularly with the greats such as Patrick Roy, Marty Brodeur, and Ed Belfour.
In today's day and age of hockey, most teams do tandem-based goaltending to get through the NHL season.
Since the Flyers' season has ended there have been numerous reports and rumours flying around the league that the Flyers may be looking at moving their number one goaltender Carter Hart during the offseason.
It's said, that Hart isn't interested in a rebuild and would like to play somewhere else. Currently, he has one year remaining on his contract worth $3.97 million and will be looking for a hefty raise when his renewal comes up.

With the mantra of building from the net out, I feel the Flyers already have the goaltender that can carry them into the future with Carter Hart and need to adjust and replace some of their defensemen to compliment his play.
I've always felt that he was the backbone of this organization, especially since this season shows brilliance in his play and style.
The Flyers do have some other goaltenders in their organization however I don't feel they're ready for the starting job as of yet. And there's a good chance that other teams will just wait out his contract and offer nothing in a trade when they can just offer him money when he's a UFA.
I feel the Flyers should lock him up long-term and have a conversation with him to reassure him that he will be a cornerstone of the franchise moving forward.
