The 2024 NHL All-Star weekend festivities kicked off in Toronto on Thursday night as they hosted the first ever NHL All-Star draft. Players were separated into four teams as the team captain along with the celebrity captain made the selections for each team. Not only did the Flyers All-Star end up with one of the NHL's most talented superstars, but he also ended up teammates with one of Philadelphia's most hated rivals.

Flyers 2024 All-Star Travis Konecny was the 27th overall pick in the All-Star Draft, selected by Team MacKinnon led by Colorado Avalanche sensation Nathan MacKinnon and Canada native singer songwriter Tate Mcrae.
Ironically enough, Travis Konecny will go from chirping and fighting Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby, to friendly teammates sharing a locker room for a weekend.

Konecny is on a team loaded with talent including the dynamic duo of the Colorado Avalanche with MacKinnon and Cale Makar, along with Sebastian Aho, Tom Wilson, and Elias Lindholm.
To no surprise, Konecny was selected by Team MacKinnon for his ability to "agitate" and get under the opponents skin with a tenacious style of play. MacKinnon echoed this sentiment when selecting Konecny saying; "We need an agitator".
