Sometimes, before a hockey game, there are indications that a fight will break out right at the beginning, where two players need to settle the score from a previous game or exchange words during warm-up.

This was the case with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Minnesota Wild, who squared off tonight, with Flyers' Nick Deslauriers dropping the gloves against the newly signed Minnesota Wild player, Patrick Maroon.
The scrap between these two heavyweights started fairly evenly. Then, Delore managed to get the upper hand and threw a few powerful punches against Maroon. Both men wrestled, and Delore knocked him to the ice.
The Flyers have been playing with a chip on their shoulders this year, as many, if not all, pundits pegged them to be a bottom 5 club. After six games, it appears that John Tortorella has managed to get much more out of his players than previously thought.
With solid goaltending and sound defensive play, the Flyers have only given up 16 goals through six games. This has given the Flyers a much-needed boost in confidence and the potential for a better season than initially hoped."
