During his press conference, Chuck Fletcher was asked about Samuel Morin's future with the Flyers, and in the NHL in general.
As a reminder, the defenseman last game was on May 8 of 2021, against the Washington Capitals. Since, he hasn't played because of an injury to his knee. He underwent surgery for it in September and his recovery time was expected to be between 6 to 8 weeks, but he was then ruled out for the season.
But, unfortunately, he will not be able to play hockey anymore. Fletcher said that his knee is too much damaged. His career is thus over. The Flyers' GM said that they will sit down with him to discuss his future and they will talk about a possible job in the organization.
In his career, Morin played 29 games in the NHL, all with the Flyers, registering one goal. He was the team's first round pick in 2013.
