As many NHL pundits and fans were asked about their expectations for the Flyers this season, many gave them a failing grade, predicting that they would be another lottery team without a doubt.

However, with the season still in its early stages, many are now skeptical due to the Flyers' fast start, which has catapulted them to first place in the Metropolitan Division, boasting a record of 4-2-1 in their first seven games of the season.
Their early success has been derived from strong defensive play by all players and quality goaltending from Carter Hart. Head coach John Tortorella is known for his passion for defensive hockey, as it aligns with his vision of how the game should be played and taught.

These are the kind of victories that teams must savour, as it's a long season, and much can happen in 82 games over six months.

The Flyers have three more home games before they head to Buffalo, with their next game against the Anaheim Ducks, scheduled to start at 1:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, October 28th.
