The Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson has been cleaning house trying to rebuild his team with picks and prospects. However, some were surprised when they Davidson traded away Kirby Dach at the NHL Draft last month in Montreal.

We get why the Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes wanted Dach he's got so much potential to be a big star in the League being drafted 3rd overall in 2019.
NHL Legend Scotty Bowman who's works as a advisor to the Blackhawks would give a insight on the Dach trade. According to Bowman, Dach while still a Center with upside, claim his struggles in the face-offs were part of the reason they decided to move Dach.
In his 3 years of the NHL, Dach won only 34.6% of his faceoffs in the NHL, which for a Center is not great. So, the decision to tear the team down to the studs was definitely set in motion during the draft.

Under Martin St. Louis and Sean Monahan's mentorship, Dach could end up better for it now.
The Canadiens still have to re-sign Dach who's currently a RFA.
«I heard some rumors about a potential extension last week, but I was told that was premature,» said Friedman regarding an eventual extension for Dach. «One of the things I heard is that the two sides were talking about a bridge deal, but there are different lengths. Don't assume two, or three or four; it could be different ideas and concepts along those lines.»
