Monday's matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers was just another example of the pure hatred and animosity between these two organizations. Big hits and extracurricular activities were a common occurrence in Monday's battle as the Flyers fell 4-1 to their bitter rivals.
In the third period as the Penguins began to pull away, 2024 NHL All-Star Travis Konecny got into it with Pens legend Evgeni Malkin as they both had to be separated and serve penalty minutes.
While in the penalty box, Malkin had some choice words for Konecny. Thankful for social media and cameras, fans were able to pick up the exchange between the two and the visuals did not disappoint.
Malkin gave the classic "scoreboard" comeback as the Penguins were seemingly dominating the Flyers 4-1. Although the Flyers were bested, they still lead to season series against Pittsburgh 2-1 as they took the first two matchups of the year.
